Tripsdrill Rollercoaster

VIRTUAL REALITY IN EXTREME SITUATIONS

Would you like to take a parachute jump, dive the Great Barrier Reef or maybe ride a rollercoaster without actually putting yourself in the dangerous situation? Thanks to virtual reality you can experience all that right at home from your couch!

WORK REQUIRED

Tripsdrill , an amusement park from southern Germany, wanted to give its visitors a unique way to take a rollercoaster ride back home. The idea was to create a tool that would, due to mouth-to-mouth propaganda, spread their newest attraction virally and allow even elderly people (or scary cats) to enjoy a ride on it.

OUR STRATEGY

For recording, MXO used a rig consisting of 14 individual, modified GoPro cameras. They were rigged to the rollercoaster’s 9-ton heavy train and stabilized using our proprietary technology. Whoever visits the park can buy a MXO Cardboard containing a personal QR code that opens our HTML5 virtual reality player software.
